Shell and tube heat exchanger is a heat exchanger that is widely used in chemical industry, such as crude oil distillation units. As its name implies, the converter consists of a large cylindrical reservoir (shell) at a high pressure and a number of pipes inside it. The fluid flows inside the pipes and hot steam flows on the pipes and inside the shell. Due to the large number of these pipes and the high contact surface that it generates, the steam is transferred to the fluid in the tube and the fluid is boiled.
